If you are travelling abroad it is most likely that you will need to exchange your money to take with you before you go.
It is best to do your research on which company is offering the highest conversion rates and if they charge a commission. Do not be fooled to just do it through the tour operator that you book with unless you have already checked out the competition. Many companies do not take a commission when exchanging travel money but some places do offer you a higher rate. If possibly you may want to take some cash but also some travellers cheques are these are safer, as you can exchange them when you get to your holiday destination. Please be aware though that many places abroad will charge you to convert your traveller’s cheques, sometimes a set fee and sometimes a percentage. Again it is advised to shop around before converting your cheques in to holiday money.
