Sporting holidays in the UK

People often talk about some of the great sporting sights around the world. The great cricket grounds in Australia with some of the world’s finest players, watching the great All Black side from New Zealand in one of their home grounds, or maybe watching the South African sides in either football or cricket strut their stuff. But what about here in the UK? Do we really have to travel thousands of miles though for great sporting holidays?

After all; despite not being the best at any major sport in the world, we practically invented every single of them. Wembley, in North London, is the home of football. A magnificent stadium with a horrible pitch. Lord’s is the home of cricket; a sport that England aren’t actually terrible at (at least the Test form of the game anyway, don’t mention the one dayers.) So why not pack a bag and travel down to London to watch a test match at the home of the game? Or to watch the FA Cup final at Wembley?
