The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary has been running since 1927, so it’s recognised as the first and largest Koala sanctuary in the whole of Australia. It’s hard to image it when you’re planning your visit but one way to picture it is to think of a zoo dedicated to koalas and a few other animals; only they’re not entirely off limits. You can hug koalas, learn about them, such as how they behave, how hey survive in the wild and how they complete their development. The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is also home to wombat, Tasmanian Devil, Kangaroo and Cassowary, so there’s lots to see and do. Buy some kangaroo food to get close to them and take a picture, or hold a koala in your arms, I’s completely up to you. It’s a great day out and worth doing if you’re planning on visiting the Queensland area of Australia.
